Panama approves credit for financial sector


    The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) approved a Global Credit Line for an amount of US $ 100.00 million to the National Bank of Panama.

    With this loan that is part of the Institutional Strategy of the BCIE “Integrating Development and Sustainable Competitiveness”, the multilateral development hopes to contribute to the generation of employment, economic growth and the promotion of commercial and social activity, product of intermediation financial

    In addition, the funds would come to support the growth of Banco Nacional de Panamá’s operations, through the channeling of resources through the programs included in the Global Credit Line, and it is estimated that 23 entities and 392 individuals will benefit.

    The agreement was formalized between the Executive President of BCIE, Dr. Nick Rischbieth and the General Manager of the National Bank of Panama, Rolando Julio de León de Alba.

    The initiative is part of the efforts of BCIE in favor of social development, with emphasis on strategic objectives aimed at creating opportunities for income generation.
